FAQs

Q: Will we be sleeping in tents?

A: Yes, we will be tent camping this year! Please plan to share with your friends and enjoy a different camping experience!
Our campsite has plenty of shade from trees, lots of picnic tables, and is just a short walk from the restroom/shower house. We are also bringing in a few extra Port-a-Potties and handwashing stations.

Q: Will we have to cook our own meals?

A: No, our lovely camp cooks will provide meals for us.

Q: Do we have a plan for severe weather?

A: Yes! There are shelters close by in case of severe weather during the day, and we have an evacuation plan to the stake center in case of overnight severe weather.

It is typically hot and muggy in Nauvoo during the summer, so we will have plenty of water and will utilize shade as much as possible.

Q: What activities might be included in "camp learning and activities"?

A: Our YCLs are busy planning camp! Some of these activities may be outdoor skills or games, while other activities will be in and around Historic Nauvoo. Crafts are always a fun option, and we like to learn things useful in our everyday lives, too!  Stay tuned for more details!

Q: Will we be doing a river float this year?

A: No, sadly our facilities this year don't allow for a river float. We do have a small "lake" near our campground where you can wade and explore during free time, but we chose to focus on other things besides water activities this year.
